Before the Agreement can enter into force, bringing with it EUR 12 000 000 000 of EDF aid and EUR 1 700 000 000 in EIB loans over five years, it has to be ratified by the European Community and the 92 national parliaments of the states party to the agreement. The agreement, and the amount of EDF aid in particular, will be revised every five years, after negotiations between the ACP and EU states.
