(2) The Minister or an officer of the Department of Transport authorized by the Minister for the purpose of this subsection may, on any terms and conditions that the Minister or officer, as the case may be, considers necessary, exempt any person, aeronautical product, aerodrome, facility or service, or any class of persons, aeronautical products, aerodromes, facilities or services, from the application of any regulation, order or security measure made under this Part if the exemption, in the opinion of the Minister or officer, as the case may be, is in the public interest and is not likely to adversely affect aviation safety or security.

12. Par dérogation à toute autre disposition de la présente partie, lorsqu’une personne ayant droit à une pension prévue dans la présente partie n’est pas citoyen canadien ni résident du Canada, le ministre peut, au lieu de cette pension, accorder la pension ou la somme globale qu’il estime proportionnée à la pension qui aurait été payable sous le régime de la présente partie à cette personne, si elle avait été citoyen canadien ou résident du Canada, eu égard au coût de la vie comparé et aux autres questions qui peuvent influer sur la valeur de la pension, mais nulle pension ou somme accordée sous le régime du présent article ne doit excéder le montant de la pension qui serait payable à cette personne aux termes de la présente partie si elle était citoyen canadien ou résident du Canada.
12. Notwithstanding anything in this Part, where a person entitled to a pension under this Part is not a Canadian citizen and is not a resident of Canada, the Minister may, in lieu of that pension, award such pension or such lump sum as the Minister deems commensurate with the pension that would be payable under this Part to the person if he were a Canadian citizen or a resident of Canada, having regard to comparative living costs and such other matters that may affect the value of the pension, but no pension or amount awarded under this section shall exceed the amount of pension that would be payable to the person under this Part if he were a Canadian citizen or a resident of Canada.

3. Au cas où la Communauté ou le Liban, en application du paragraphe 1, modifient le régime prévu au présent accord pour les produits agricoles, ils consentent, pour les importations originaires de l'autre partie, un avantage comparable à celui prévu au présent accord.
3. If the Community or Lebanon, in applying paragraph 1, modifies the arrangements made by this Agreement for agricultural products, they shall accord imports originating in the other Party an advantage comparable to that provided for in this Agreement.

3. If the Community or Algeria, in applying paragraph 1, modifies the arrangements made by this Agreement for agricultural products, they shall accord imports originating in the other Party an advantage comparable to that provided for in this Agreement.

19.4.5 Aucun Gouvernement contractant ne doit accepter qu'un autre certificat international provisoire de sûreté du navire soit délivré par la suite à un navire si, de l'opinion de l'Administration ou de l'organisme de sûreté reconnu, l'une des raisons pour lesquelles le navire ou la compagnie sollicite un tel certificat est de se soustraire à l'obligation de satisfaire pleinement au chapitre XI-2 et à la présente partie du Code au-delà de la période de validité du Certificat provisoire initial décrit dans la section 19.4.4.
19.4.5 No Contracting Government shall cause a subsequent, consecutive Interim International Ship Security Certificate to be issued to a ship if, in the judgement of the Administration or the recognised security organisation, one of the purposes of the ship or a Company in requesting such certificate is to avoid full compliance with chapter XI-2 and this Part of the Code beyond the period of the initial Interim Certificate as specified in section 19.4.4.
