The negotiating mandate sets the objective of establishing an open aviation area between the European Union and Canada. 33. encourage le gouvernement des États-Unis, d'une part, et la présidence de l'UE et la Commission, d'autre part, à signer, lors du prochain sommet, l'accord sur le transport aérien conclu le 2 mars 2007 entre le gouvernement américain et la Commission européenne, comme l'accord de première phase pour la nouvelle coopération entre les États-Unis et l'UE dans ce domaine vital du transport aérien transatlantique; espère que les États-Unis ratifieront rapidement cet accord et invite les deux partenaires à entamer dès que possible les négociations sur l'accord de deuxième phase;
33. Encourages the US Administration, the EU Presidency and the Commission to sign the Air Transport Agreement of 2 March 2007 between the US Administration and the EU Commission at the upcoming Summit as the first stage agreement for renewed cooperation between the US and the EU in the very important Transatlantic Aviation Area; hopes that the US will soon ratify that agreement and encourages both sides to start the negotiations for the second stage agreement as soon as possible;
