He worked with the operational research group in the defence research board of the Canadian Department of National Defence. He also headed the operational research sections in air defence command and NATO SACLANT anti-submarine warfare centre in Italy, and then as chief of the operational research and analysis establishment in defence headquarters from 1967 to 1987.
