Points out that the coordinating role of the national statistical institutes and Eurostat in the production of European statistics must be enforced and supported by further legislative changes, where necessary; calls for the ESGAB to be transformed into an independent supervisory body which should be tasked with overseeing reviews, verifications and inspections in the European Statistical System; to that end, invites the Commission to draw up a proposal for a regulation which should replace Decision No 235/2008/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 March 2008 establishing the European Statistical Governance Advisory Board currently in force;

Les statistiques sont élaborées pour toutes les activités visées aux sections B, C, D et E de la NACE Rév. 2. Ces sections couvrent les activités des industries extractives (B), de l'industrie manufacturière (C), de production et distribution d'électricité, de gaz, de vapeur et d'air conditionné (D), ainsi que de production et distribution d'eau, d'assainissement, de gestion des déchets et de dépollution (E).
The statistics are to be compiled for all activities within the coverage of Sections B, C, D and E of NACE Rev. 2. These sections cover the activities of mining and quarrying (B), manufacturing (C), electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (D) and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (E).
