In 2007, unfavourable weather conditions reduced the harvest and overall EU production is estimated at 256 million tonnes, a fall of10 million tonnes or 3.5 % on the already modest 2006/07 harvest.

Le montant total des prélèvements dus est sensiblement plus faible (38 %) en 2006/2007 qu'en 2005/2006, bien que la somme des livraisons ajustées n'ait diminué que de 0,15 % et ce, parce que le quota total disponible pour les livraisons a été majoré de 1,2 millions de tonnes et le prélèvement par kg d'excédent réduit de 8 % par rapport à l'année précédente.
