Je tiens surtout à remercier et à saluer, au nom de tous les sénateurs, chacun des 34 000 citoyens canadiens qui servent dans la réserve des Forces armées canadiennes. Je les remercie de leur engagement à compléter, à soutenir et à appuyer les forces régulières, dont 4 700 membres ont déjà servi activement dans des théâtres d'opérations où les risques sont grands, notamment en Afghanistan, en Bosnie, en Croatie, en Haïti et en d'autres points chauds à l'étranger.
Most importantly, on behalf of all senators in this chamber, I thank and recognize each and every one of the 34,000 Canadian citizens who serve as members of the Canadian Armed Forces reserve for their commitment to augment, sustain and support the regular force, more than 4,700 of whom have already served actively at great risk in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Croatia, Haiti and other international trouble spots.
