38 (1) The master of any vessel entering a canal to discharge goods or leaving a canal in which goods have been taken aboard shall, upon the vessel’s arrival in the canal before discharging and prior to the vessel’s departure from the canal after loading, respectively, furnish to the proper officer of the canal correct reports in such form as may be required by the Department specifying the goods making up the vessel’s cargo on entering and on leaving the canal and showing the details of each consignment of all goods loaded or unloaded in the canal and, if so required by the Chief or the Superintending Engineer, certified copies of bills of lading of each consignment and a certified copy of vessel’s manifest shall also be furnished.

4. Lorsqu’une procédure d’acceptation ou de vérification, permettant de certifier la conformité des marchandises ou des services avec le contrat, est prévue, les États membres veillent à ce que la durée maximale de ladite procédure n’excède pas trente jours civils après la date de réception des marchandises ou de prestation des services, à moins qu’il ne soit expressément stipulé autrement par contrat et pourvu que cela ne constitue pas un abus manifeste à l’égard du créancier au sens de l’article 7.
4. Where a procedure of acceptance or verification, by which the conformity of the goods or services with the contract is to be ascertained, is provided for, Member States shall ensure that the maximum duration of that procedure does not exceed 30 calendar days from the date of receipt of the goods or services, unless otherwise expressly agreed in the contract and provided it is not grossly unfair to the creditor within the meaning of Article 7.
