Afin de permettre au Parlement européen d’exercer son contrôle tout en garantissant la confidentialité des informations opérationnelles, il est nécessaire qu’Europol et le Parlement européen concluent un arrangement de travail sur l’accès aux informations classifiées de l’UE et aux informations sensibles non classifiées traitées directement par Europol ou par son intermédiaire.
In order to allow the European Parliament to exercise the scrutiny but at the same time to guarantee confidentiality of operational information, Europol and the European Parliament need to conclude working arrangement on the access to European Union Classified Information and sensitive non-classified information processed by or through Europol.

1. Pour permettre au Parlement européen d'exercer le contrôle parlementaire sur les activités d'Europol conformément à l'article 53, l'accès à des informations classifiées de l'Union européenne et à des informations sensibles non classifiées traitées directement par Europol ou par son intermédiaire peut, sur demande, lui être octroyé, ainsi qu'à ses représentants.
1. For the purpose of enabling it to exercise parliamentary scrutiny of Europol’s activities in accordance with Article 53, access to European Union Classified Information and sensitive non-classified information processed by or through Europol may be granted to the European Parliament and its representatives upon request.

2. L'accès du Parlement européen aux informations classifiées de l'UE traitées par Europol ou par son intermédiaire est conforme à l'accord interinstitutionnel du 12 mars 2014 entre le Parlement européen et le Conseil relatif à la transmission au Parlement européen et au traitement par celui-ci des informations classifiées détenues par le Conseil concernant d'autres questions que celles relevant de la politique étrangère et de sécurité commune et aux règles visées à l'article 67, paragraphe 2, du présent règlement.
2. Access by the European Parliament to EU classified information processed by or through Europol shall be consistent with the Interinstitutional Agreement of 12 March 2014 between the European Parliament and the Council concerning the forwarding to and the handling by the European Parliament of classified information held by the Council on matters other than those in the area of the common foreign and security policy , and shall comply with the rules referred to in Article 67(2) of this Regulation.
