Nous attendons avec grande impatience les bienfaits que nous apporteront, dans les années à venir, l'exploitation des fonds marins et la récente découverte de riches gisements de nickel à Voisey's Bay, au Labrador; mais nous savons, comme tous les habitants de ce pays, que dans les mois à venir nous allons devoir subir le contre-coup d'une nouvelle structure commerciale, d'un flux financier différent, et des nouvelles technologies qui ébranlent les fondations mêmes de la société canadiennes.
We still experience that today, but it has only served to strengthen us, as struggle and hardship always does. While we await with great anticipation those benefits that, in years to come, we believe will flow from the offshore and, more recently, from the great nickel discovery at Voisey's Bay in Labrador, we know, like people all across this country, that we will have to brace ourselves in the coming months to cope with the new trading patterns, new financial flows and new technology that are shaking the very foundations of Canadian society.
