Considers it necessary to modernise road infrastructures in the BSR and ensure connections with European transport corridors; stresses the need to implement the Black Sea Motorway Project launched by the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in 2006, which crosses all the BSEC countries, and calls on the Commission and Black Sea riparian states to include this among the TEN-T priority projects when the mid-term TEN-T policy review is carried out;

Emphasises the need for the EU and its Member States surrounding the Baltic Sea Region urgently to address the serious environmental problems affecting the Region, principal among which are eutrophication, the impact of hazardous substances deposited on the seabed and threats to aquatic biodiversity, with particular regard to endangered fish populations; recalls that the Baltic Sea is one of the most polluted sea areas in the world;

3. Before 31 January each year, the Member States of the Baltic Sea shall make available to the Commission and other Member States bordering the Baltic Sea on its official website their national control action programmes as referred to in paragraph 1, together with an implementation schedule.

Le présent règlement s’applique aux navires de pêche communautaires dont la longueur hors tout est supérieure ou égale à huit mètres et qui opèrent en mer Baltique, ainsi qu’aux États membres riverains de la mer Baltique (ci-après dénommés «États membres concernés»).

Les pays candidats et les États membres riverains de la mer Baltique élaboreront un document commun de programmation et en assureront la coordination avec le programme INTERREG IIIB correspondant, en vue de fusionner les deux documents en un document de programmation unique pour la fin 2003.
For the Baltic Sea Region, Phare-CBC will provide co-funding for programmes supported by INTERREG IIIB; candidate countries and Member States bordering the Baltic Sea will develop a Joint Programming Document and co-ordinate it with the respective INTERREG IIIB programme with a view to merging the two documents into one Single Programming Document by the end of 2003.
