Le système eCall relève des applications "eSafety", qui visent notamment à atténuer les conséquences des accidents de la route. Il est conçu pour déclencher automatiquement un appel d'urgence en cas d'accident grave.
eCall belongs to the eSafety applications that aim in particular at the mitigation of the consequences of road accidents. eCall is desinged to automatically trigger an emergency call in case of a severe accident.
