Investments in rural infrastructure and diversification of economic activities represent 40% of the total Sapard allocation to the nMS, of which 31% was allocated to investments in rural infrastructure and 9% to investments in diversification of economic activities.

Il examinera l’état d’avancement de la mise en œuvre des mesures d’investissement dans les exploitations et le secteur alimentaire, qui contribuent, notamment, à satisfaire aux normes de l’acquis communautaire, et des deux autres mesures d’investissement en faveur de l’infrastructure rurale et de la diversification des activités économiques, qui participent, en particulier, au développement économique durable et à la création d’emplois dans les zones rurales.
The report will analyse the state of implementation of the investment measures for farms and food industry, which contribute, in particular, to the attainment of acquis standards , and the other two investment measures for rural infrastructure and diversification of economic activities which contribute, in particular, to sustainable economic development and job creation in rural areas.

Il examine l’état d’avancement de la mise en œuvre des mesures d’investissement dans les exploitations agricoles et le secteur alimentaire qui contribuent, notamment, à l'adoption des normes communautaires, et des deux autres mesures d’investissement en faveur de la diversification des activités économiques et des infrastructures rurales qui participent, en particulier, au développement économique durable et à la création d’emplois dans les zones rurales.
It assesses the state of implementation of the investment measures for farms and the food industry, which contribute, in particular, to the attainment of EU standards. It also assesses the other two investment measures for diversification of economic activities and rural infrastructure which mainly contribute to sustainable economic development and the creation of job opportunities in rural areas.

7. recommande que la dimension européenne de la politique de cohésion, qui vise à mettre en œuvre le concept stratégique d'une croissance intelligente, durable et inclusive, se focalise sur un triple objectif: en premier lieu, aider les zones urbaines à développer leurs infrastructures physiques de base, condition préalable de la croissance, afin d'exploiter au maximum leur contribution potentielle à la croissance économique en Europe, à la diversification du tissu économique et à la durabilité énergétique et environnementale, au premier chef pour préserver et améliorer la qualité de l’air dans les centres urbains sans porter préjudice aux cours d’eau urbains; en second lieu, aider les zones urbaines à moderniser leur situation économique, sociale et environnementale au moyen d'investissements intelligents dans des infrastructures et des services utilisant les progrès technologiques et étroitement liés aux spécificités régionales, locales et nationales; et en troisième lieu régénérer des zones urbaines en récupérant des sites industriels et des sols contaminés, sans toutefois oublier le développement de liens entre les zones urbaines et les zones rurales, en vue d'encourager le développement inclusif, conformément à la stratégie Europe 2020;
7. Recommends that the urban dimension of Cohesion Policy, taking as a guideline the strategic concept of serving smart, sustainable, inclusive growth, should focus on a threefold objective: first, to help urban areas develop their basic physical infrastructure as a precondition for growth in order fully to exploit their potential contribution to economic growth in Europe, diversification of the economic base and energy and environmental sustainability, in particular with a view to maintaining and improving air quality in urban centres; without detriment to rivers; second, to help urban areas modernise their economic, social and environmental characteristics through smart investment in infrastructure and services based on technological advancements and closely related to specific regional, local and national requirements; thirdly, to regenerate urban areas by reclaiming industrial sites and contaminated land, while bearing in mind the need for links between urban and rural areas with a view to promoting inclusive development, in line with the Europe 2020 Strategy;

G. whereas the process of structural economic liberalisation and diversification initiated in several GCC member states is producing new internal dynamics, both politically (with constitutional reforms, political participation and a strengthening of institutions) and socially (a voluntary sector is emerging, employers' associations are developing and women are gaining access to posts with responsibility), and this should be encouraged and supported,
