It will play an active role in the fight against terrorism in different multilateral forums, and in particular in the United Nations (UN), where it will continue to work with partners towards a Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism and towards enhancing the design, implementation and effectiveness of sanctions by the UN Security Council with a view to safeguarding fundamental rights and freedoms and ensuring fair and clear procedures.

RECALLING the United Nations conventions for combating terrorism and its financing, and relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council in the field of fighting terrorism, in particular United Nations Security Council Resolution 1373 (2001) and its directives that all States shall take the necessary steps to prevent the commission of terrorist acts, including by provision of early warning to other States by exchange of information; that States shall afford one another the greatest measure of assistance in connection with criminal investigations or criminal proceedings relating to the financing or support of terrorist acts; that States should find ways of intensifying and accelerating the exchange of operational information; that States should exchange information in accordance with international and domestic law; and that States should cooperate, particularly through bilateral and multilateral arrangements and agreements, to prevent and suppress terrorist attacks and to take action against perpetrators of such attacks.

Les parties, réaffirmant l'importance de la lutte contre le terrorisme et conformément aux conventions internationales applicables, notamment en ce qui concerne le droit humanitaire international et la législation internationale relative aux droits de l'homme et aux réfugiés, ainsi que conformément à leurs législations et réglementations respectives, et compte tenu de la stratégie mondiale contre le terrorisme adoptée par l'Assemblée générale des Nations unies dans sa résolution no 60/288 du 8 septembre 2006, conviennent de coopérer à la prévention et à l'éradication des actes terroristes.
1. The Parties, reaffirming the importance of the fight against terrorism, and in accordance with applicable international conventions, including international humanitarian, human rights and refugee law, as well as with their respective legislation and regulations, and, taking into account the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, contained in the UN General Assembly Resolution No 60/288 of 8 September 2006, agree to cooperate in the prevention and suppression of terrorist acts.

1. Le secrétaire général de la Conférence de La Haye de droit international privé convoque périodiquement une commission spéciale afin d’examiner le fonctionnement pratique de la convention et d’encourager le développement de bonnes pratiques en vertu de la convention.
(1) The Secretary General of the Hague Conference on Private International Law shall at regular intervals convene a Special Commission in order to review the practical operation of the Convention and to encourage the development of good practices under the Convention.

The Parties reiterate their firm condemnation of all acts of terrorism and undertake to combat terrorism through international cooperation, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and international law, relevant conventions and instruments and in particular full implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions 1373 (2001) and 1456 (2003) and other relevant UN resolutions.
