Calls on the Commission and the Member States to take concerted action with a view to establishing policies to attract rural tourism, bearing in mind that this is a driving force for development in inland and rural regions; urges the European institutions to create links between the heritage and local communities with a view to capitalising on the involvement of local stakeholders in rural and remote regions; maintains that strong emphasis should be laid on the training of human resources and financial support for heritage conservation, given that boosting cultural tourism in rural areas also encourages a shift away from mass tourism;

2. attire l'attention sur le fait que les futures actions en faveur du tourisme rural et de l'agrotourisme doivent être parfaitement cohérentes avec les futurs objectifs, stratégies et instruments de la PAC dans le domaine du développement rural, en particulier avec ceux relatifs à la fourniture de biens publics, tels que l'entretien des terrains, la conservation des paysages, la biodiversité ou la sylviculture, la conservation et la mise en valeur du patrimoine rural;

Points out that future measures in support of rural and farm tourism must be fully attuned to the future objectives, strategies and instruments of the CAP in the field of rural development, and especially to those relating to the provision of public goods, such as land maintenance, landscape conservation, biodiversity and forestry, and the conservation and development of rural heritage;
