IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

Le présent règlement établit l'enveloppe financière, pour la durée totale de la période financière, qui constitue le montant de référence privilégiée au sens du point 17 de l'accord interinstitutionnel du 2 décembre 2013 entre le Parlement européen, le Conseil et la Commission sur la discipline budgétaire, la coopération en matière budgétaire et la bonne gestion financière (4), pour le Parlement européen et le Conseil au cours de la procédure budgétaire annuelle.
This Regulation lays down, for the entire duration of the financial period, a financial envelope which is to constitute the prime reference amount, within the meaning of point 17 of the Interinstitutional Agreement of 2 December 2013 between the European Parliament, the Council and the Commission on budgetary discipline, on cooperation in budgetary matters and on sound financial management (4), for the European Parliament and the Council during the annual budgetary procedure.

La nécessité d'élaborer davantage de mesures qui visent à établir une gestion et une gouvernance d'entreprise responsables et redevables constitue une manière de contribuer positivement à l'économie réelle et à la société; des objectifs-clés tels que des politiques de rémunérations saines et responsables, la participation suffisante de femmes aux conseils de gestion et de direction, la valorisation de l'engagement à long terme des actionnaires, le renforcement de la consultation des employés et l'actionnariat salarié, devraient être au cœur de la consultation et des mesures législatives qui en naîtront.
The need to further develop measures aiming at a responsible and accountable corporate management and governance is a way to give a positive contribution to the real economy and society; key objectives such as sound and responsible remuneration policies, adequate participation of women in management and decision-taking boards, valorisation of long-term shareholder commitment, enhancement of employee consultation, participation and shareholding schemes should be at the heart of the consultation and the consequent legislative measures.

Welcomes the Commission's initiative to launch a public consultation on corporate governance and improving the transparency of the information provided by businesses on social and environmental matters and respect for human rights, but emphasises the importance of taking further specific steps to promote sound and responsible remuneration policies, adequate participation of women in management and executive boards, the valorisation of long-term shareholder commitment and the enhancement of employee consultation, participation and shareholding schemes; calls, in particular, for the promotion of employee shareholding schemes, the strengthening of long-term shareholder commitment and the promotion of information and consultation rights for employees and their representatives, together with boardroom participation rights; emphasises that increased transparency, good relations with staff, and production processes consistent with sustainable development are also in the interests of businesses, their owners and those who invest in them;
