2) En ce qui concerne le dialogue politique, l'accord tient compte, fondamentalement, des demandes réitérées du Parlement quant à la création d'une association euro-latino-américaine qui traiterait de questions politiques et de questions de sécurité, ce qui suppose l'adoption d'un programme politique élargi (l'accord englobe la coopération en matière de lutte contre le terrorisme), l'actualisation du dialogue politique ministériel et, parallèlement, l'octroi d'un rôle important à la société civile dans le suivi de ce dialogue, et l'aggiornamento du dialogue parlementaire, dans le contexte duquel l'accord prévoit la mise en place d'une commission parlementaire d'association entre le Parlement européen et le Congrès national du Chili (ce qui, de l'avis du rapporteur, permettrait, le moment venu, de jeter les fondements d'une assemblée transatlantique euro-latino-américaine).
2. As far as political dialogue is concerned, the new agreement is essentially in line with the calls repeatedly made by Parliament for the establishment of a Europe/Latin America political and security partnership, entailing the adoption of a wider political agenda (the new agreement also covers cooperation in the fight against terrorism); for modernising the ministerial political dialogue, assigning an important role in monitoring it to civil society; and for updating the parliamentary dialogue, for which purpose the new agreement provides for the setting up of a joint parliamentary committee of the European Parliament and the National Congress of Chile which, in your rapporteur's opinion, will make it possible in due course to envisage some kind of Europe/Latin America Transatlantic Assembly.
