1. se félicite de la conclusion des négociations de l’accord de partenariat et de coopération entre l’Union et la République d’Iraq, qui institue les toutes premières relations contractuelles entre les deux parties; se félicite de la mise en place, par l'accord de partenariat et de coopération, d'un conseil de coopération, d'un comité de coopération et d'une commission parlementaire de coopération et escompte de ces entités qu'elles insufflent un nouvel élan à la participation politique de l'Union en Iraq au plus haut niveau, par des contacts politiques réguliers et par le développement de relations économiques avec les plus hautes autorités iraquiennes;

Welcomes the conclusion of the negotiations on the partnership and cooperation agreement between the EU and the Republic of Iraq, which establishes contractual relations between the two parties for the first time; welcomes the establishment by the partnership and cooperation agreement of a Cooperation Council, a Cooperation Committee and a Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and expects such fora to provide fresh impetus for the Union’s political involvement in Iraq at the highest level, in the form of regular political talks and the development of economic relations with the Iraqi authorities at the most senior level;

20. approuve l'organisation régulière de sommets régionaux UE-Asie centrale et invite à réfléchir sur l'éventuelle création future d'un forum parlementaire UE-Asie centrale ad hoc, dans le cadre des commissions parlementaires de coopération et des réunions interparlementaires existantes avec les pays d'Asie centrale, permettant ainsi de contribuer aux débats et d'en évaluer la teneur; souligne l'importance d'une coopération parlementaire bilatérale et multilatérale régulière; considère à cet égard les accords de partenariat et de coopération comme une base institutionnelle pour renforcer les échanges entre parlementaires servant la compréhension et le respect mutuels; se prononce donc en faveur d'accords de partenariat et de coopération avec chacun des cinq pays d'Asie centrale; souligne l'importance d'une implication plus active du Parlement dans le suivi des négociations en vue d'accords de partenariat avec les pays d'Asie centrale et la mise en œuvre des accords existants;
20. Approves the holding of regular regional EU-Central Asia summits and calls for consideration to be given to the possible future establishment of an EU-Central Asia ad hoc parliamentary forum in the framework of the existing Parliamentary Cooperation Committees and interparliamentary meetings with Central Asian countries as a means of assessing, and contributing to the contents of, the summit talks; underlines the importance of regular bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation; regards the Partnership and Cooperation Agreements as the institutional basis for an enhanced exchange among parliamentarians, providing mutual understanding and respect; therefore supports PCAs with all five Central Asian countries; stresses the importance of the European Parliament's more active engagement in monitoring negotiations on partnership agreements with the Central Asian countries and in the implementation of the existing ones;
