La reconnaissance du fait historique du génocide arménien par une entité politique est une réelle expression de respect envers la justice, respect envers la mémoire des victimes et respect envers leurs fils et leurs filles partout au monde, y compris au Canada.
The recognition of the historical fact of the Armenian genocide by a political body is a genuine expression of respect towards justice, respect towards the memory of the victims, respect towards their sons and daughters all over the world including Canada.

C'est une ultime tentative pour faire en sorte que ce Parlement, à l'instar de l'Assemblée nationale du Québec, de la législature de l'Ontario ainsi que de plusieurs Parlements européens, fasse ce que l'histoire commande de faire, ce que la justice la plus élémentaire nous commande de faire, c'est-à-dire de reconnaître pour ce qu'il est, le génocide du peuple arménien.
This is the latest attempt to ensure that this parliament, just like the Quebec National Assembly, the Legislative Assembly of Ontario and several European parliaments, does what history and fundamental justice require from us, which is to recognize the Armenian genocide for what it was.

L'ONU ne reconnaît pourtant pas encore ce fait notoire parce que, selon l'ex-ministre de la Justice du Québec, M. Herbert Marx, extrait tiré du quotidien Le Devoir du 23 mai 1984: «[ . ] à cause des interventions du gouvernement turc au sein même de l'ONU, le génocide arménien n'est pas encore officiellement reconnu».
The UN, however, still does not recognize this well known fact because, according to a former Quebec justice minister, Herbert Marx, and I quote from the May 23, 1984 issue of Le Devoir: ``-because of the interventions of the Turkish government within the UN itself, the Armenian genocide is not yet officially recognized''.

Le Bloc québécois espère que le Canada, fidèle à ses valeurs de justice et de compassion, saura faire preuve de courage en adoptant la motion suivante que j'ai déposée en mars dernier: «Que la Chambre reconnaisse le génocide arménien de 1915 et condamne cet acte comme étant un crime contre l'humanité».
The Bloc Quebecois hopes that Canada, in keeping with its values of justice and compassion, will have the courage to adopt the following motion, which I moved in March: “That this House recognize the Armenian genocide of 1915 and condemn this act as a crime against humanity”.
