Nous proposons les quatre mesures suivantes, soit que la ministre rétablisse sans délai le budget accordé à Condition féminine Canada; que les bureaux régionaux soient rouverts et que l'équipe actuelle réintègre ses fonctions; que la mission première du Programme de promotion de la femme, soit l'atteinte de l'égalité entre les hommes et les femmes, soit rétablie et qu'on insiste sur l'égalité de fait; que la ministre donne suite aux recommandations du Comité permanent de la condition féminine concernant le financement accordé au Programme de promotion de la femme.
We are suggesting the following four measures: that the Minister immediately restore Status of Women Canada's budget; that regional offices be re-opened and that the responsibilities of the current team be restored; that the primary mission of the Women's Program, which is the achievement of equality between men and women, be restored and that the emphasis be placed on equality in fact; and that the Minister implement the recommendations of the Standing Committee on the Status of Women with respect to the funding of the Women's Program.

The Council and the European Parliament, meeting in the Conciliation Committee, reached agreement on Wednesday evening on the draft directive providing for equal treatment for men and women as regards access to employment, vocational training and promotion, and working conditions.

(a) Except for unusual circumstances as may be determined by a majority of the members of the Appointments Commission, meetings thereof shall be held by means of conference telephone (b) The three persons from each region of Canada appointed to the Appointments Commission, known as the Subcommittee, shall recommend to the Appointments Commission the names of persons to fill vacancies that occur within the Subcommittee's region, and upon receipt of such names of such persons the Appointments Commission shall - unless 75 per cent of all the members of the Appointments Commission declare otherwise - recommend such persons to the Governor General in Council for appointment to the Senate; (c) Meetings of the Subcommittee shall be held in person or as otherwise determined unanimously by the members of each Subcommittee; (d) If a Subcommittee cannot unanimously agree as to the person to be recommended for appointment to the Senate, the matter shall be referred to the Appointments Commission as a whole for final determination; (e) term of office of its members (f) the filling of vacancies; (g) the remuneration, if any, of its members; and (h) the appointment of officers, e.g. Chairman (3) The Appointments Commission should be given guidelines in respect to the appointment of Senators as follows:
