La Communauté accordera un soutien non financier, notamment l'autorisation écrite d'utiliser le logo lorsqu'il aura été mis au point, et d'autres matériels associés à l'Année européenne du dialogue interculturel, à des initiatives émanant d'organisations publiques ou privées, dans la mesure où ces dernières peuvent garantir à la Commission que les initiatives en question sont ou seront menées au cours de l'année 2008 et sont susceptibles de contribuer de manière sensible à la réalisation des objectifs de l'Année européenne du dialogue interculturel.
The Community will grant non-financial support, including written authorisation to use the logo, once developed, and other materials associated with the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, in initiatives from public or private organisations, in so far as the latter may provide assurances to the Commission that the initiatives in question are or will be carried out during 2008 and are likely to make a significant contribution to achieving the objectives of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.

Les initiatives organisées dans des pays tiers en association ou en coopération avec l'Année européenne du dialogue interculturel, sans être soutenues financièrement par celle-ci, pourront également bénéficier du soutien non financier de la Communauté et utiliser le logo et d'autres matériels associés à l'Année européenne du dialogue interculturel.
Initiatives organised in third countries in association or cooperation with the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, without being supported financially by it, may also receive non-financial support from the Community and use the logo and other materials associated with the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue.

L'année 2008 est proclamée «Année européenne du dialogue interculturel» afin de contribuer à la concrétisation et à la visibilité d'un processus durable de dialogue interculturel qui se poursuivra au delà de ladite année.
The year 2008 shall be designated as the ‘European Year of Intercultural Dialogue’ to contribute to giving expression and a high profile to a sustained process of intercultural dialogue which will continue beyond that year.

The candidate countries should nevertheless be closely associated with actions under the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue through initiatives to promote developing intercultural dialogue within the relevant frameworks for cooperation and dialogue, particularly in the context of the civil society dialogue between the EU and these countries (4).
