77 (1) Lorsqu’un candidat soutenu par un parti enregistré décède au cours de la période commençant à 14 h le cinquième jour précédant le jour de clôture et se terminant à la fermeture des bureaux de scrutin le jour du scrutin, le scrutin est ajourné et le directeur du scrutin, après avoir communiqué avec le directeur général des élections, fixe comme nouveau jour de clôture dans la circonscription le deuxième lundi suivant la date du décès.
77 (1) If a candidate endorsed by a registered party dies after 2:00 p.m. on the 5th day before the closing day for nominations and before the close of polling stations on polling day, the election is postponed and the returning officer shall, after communicating with the Chief Electoral Officer, fix the 2nd Monday after the death as the closing day for nominations in that electoral district.

The election of a Speaker shall take precedence over all other business and no motion for adjournment nor any other motion shall be accepted while it is proceeding and the House shall continue to sit, if necessary, beyond its ordinary hour of daily adjournment, notwithstanding any other Standing or Special Order, until a Speaker is declared elected, and is installed in the Chair in the usual manner, provided that if the House has continued to sit beyond its ordinary hour of daily adjournment, the Speaker shall thereupon adjourn the House until the next sitting day.
