A clear, equitable, affordable and effective patent regime applied consistently across the EU is crucial if we are to exploit fully the medical, environmental and economic potential of biotechnology in line with high ethical standards, while taking due account of public concerns on the issue of patents granted for biotechnological innovations.

Afin d'assurer des conditions uniformes d'exécution du présent règlement et d'éviter toute concurrence déloyale ou toute discrimination entre agriculteurs, il convient de conférer des compétences d'exécution à la Commission en ce qui concerne: l'adoption de règles relatives à la procédure applicable aux notifications faites par les États membres, y compris des règles concernant les calendriers s relatifs à leur présentation, et à l'évaluation des pratiques équivalentes par la Commission; l'adoption de certaines limites dans lesquelles l'obligation de maintenir des prairies permanentes est réputée respectée; la fixation du plafond annuel applicable aux paiements accordés en cas de pratiques agricoles bénéfiques pour le climat et l'environnement; la fixation du plafond annuel applicable aux paiements accordés pour les zones soumises à des contraintes naturelles; la fixation du plafond annuel applicable aux paiements accordés aux jeunes agriculteurs.
In order to ensure uniform conditions for the implementation of this Regulation and to avoid unfair competition or discrimination between farmers, implementing powers should also be conferred on the Commission in respect of: adopting rules on the procedure, including on the timetables for their submission, for the Member States' notifications and the Commission assessment as regards equivalent practices; adopting certain limits within which the obligation to maintain permanent grassland is considered to be being complied with; setting out the annual ceiling for the payment for agricultural practices beneficial for the climate and the environment; setting out the annual ceiling for the payment for areas with natural constraints; setting out the annual ceiling for the payment for young farmers.

En contrepartie du présent accord et notamment du fait que la Province a consenti au partage égal avec le Canada, au profit et à l’usage de la Bande, des bénéfices nets, du revenu brut, des redevances et de toute rétribution, tirés de l’aliénation des minéraux soumis à l’accord, le Canada, de son propre chef et au nom de la Bande, renonce à tous les droits, titres ou intérêts auxquels le Canada ou la Bande peut, pourra ou a pu prétendre sur les minéraux soumis à l’accord, ou sur toute somme d’argent tirée de l’exploration, de la mise en valeur, de la production, de la location, de l’aliénation ou de la négociation sous quelque forme que ce soit des minéraux soumis à l’accord.
In consideration of this Agreement, and in particular the agreement of the Province to share equally with Canada for the use and benefit of the Band the net profit, gross revenue, royalties or any like proceeds from the disposition of the Subject Minerals as herein provided, Canada in its own right and on behalf of the Band releases any and all claims to any right, title or interest whatsoever which Canada or the Band ever had, now has, or hereafter can, shall, or may have to the Subject Minerals or any moneys arising from the exploration, development, production, leasing or in any way disposing of or dealing with the Subject Minerals.
