Malgré les imperfections possibles de la définition de Baechler qui parle du suicide comme tout comportement qui cherche et qui trouve la solution d’un problème existentiel dans le fait d’attenter à la vie du sujet, il était intéressant de la reprendre et cela pour plusieurs raisons:
