2. Social costs of restructuring After taking into account payment to the affected workers by the Spanish Government under general social security arrangements (estimated at 18 284 billion pesetas) and ECSC support (estimated at 278 million pesetas), the total supplementary social costs resulting from a tripartite agreement between the company, the trade unions and the Basque Government amount to a maximum of 3 715 to 3.97 billion pesetas (depending on the final number of workers involved).
