While accepting the integration into the Agreement of Council Directive 93/54/EEC amending Directive 91/67/EEC concerning the animal health conditions governing the placing on the market of aquaculture animals and products, Norway would like to express its firm conviction that, based on present knowledge of the epidemiology of infectious salmon anaemia (ISA) and the well demonstrated practical effects of veterinary control measures, there is no scientific justification for the classification of ISA as a severe exotic disease.
