The main provisions adapted relate to: - the conditions under which the use of ozone-enriched air may be permitted in order to separate unstable elements from natural mineral waters, - the obligation to include a statement of the analytical composition of natural mineral waters, in order to ensure that consumers are informed, - extension of the period of recognition for natural mineral waters originating in third countries in order to simplify administrative procedures, - extension of the scope of the Directive to include bottled waters labelled "spring water", - introduction of a safeguard clause enabling Member States to take decisions swiftly in cases of contamination of natural mineral waters, - establishment of a procedure to lay down certain detailed provisions concerning natural mineral waters, notably in respect of limits for the levels of certain constituents, labelling, analysis methods, etc. Transport Driving licences The Council adopted unanimously, in accordance with its common position of 26 February 1996, an amendment to Directive 91/439/EEC on driving licences, which allows Member States which so wish to issue a new Community model driving licence in credit card format.
De belangrijkste aangepaste bepalingen hebben met name betrekking op : - de voorwaarden waaronder het gebruik van met ozon verrijkte lucht is toegestaan om instabiele bestanddelen uit natuurlijk mineraalwater te verwijderen, - de verplichting om met het oog op de voorlichting van de consument de samenstelling van natuurlijk mineraalwater te vermelden, - de verlenging van de geldigheidsduur van de erkenning van mineraalwater afkomstig uit derde landen, teneinde de administratieve procedures te vereenvoudigen, - de uitbreiding van de werkingssfeer van de richtlijn tot onder de benaming "bronwater" gebotteld mineraalwater, - de invoering van een vrijwaringsclausule die de Lid-Staten in staat stelt snel te reageren in geval van besmetting van natuurlijk mineraalwater, - de instelling van een procedure voor de vaststelling van sommige gedetailleerde bepalingen inzake natuurlijk mineraalwater, waarbij het vooral gaat om de grenswaarden voor de concentratie van bepaalde bestanddelen, de etikettering, de analysemethoden, enz. Vervoer Rijbewijs De Raad heeft met eenparigheid van stemmen en overeenkomstig zijn gemeenschappelijk standpunt van 26 februari 1996 een wijziging aangenomen van Richtlijn 91/439/EEG betreffende het rijbewijs, die de Lid-Staten die zulks wensen de mogelijkheid geeft om een nieuw communautair model rijbewijs af te geven in de vorm van een document met het formaat van een betaalkaart.
