We observe that, within this process, there is a ten
dency to lessen the relative importance of classical production factors, such as natural resources and cheap labour, and that new forms of co
mpetition and a new social and economic fabric -the Information Society- in which the generat
ion, processing and distribution of knowledge and information is the main source of productiv
ity, well-being and ...[+++]power, emerge.
79. Wij stellen vast dat er binnen dit proces de neiging bestaat relatief minder belang te hechten aan de klassieke productiefactoren, zoals natuurlijke hulpbronnen en goedkope arbeid, en dat er nieuwe vormen van mededinging ontstaan, alsmede een nieuwe sociale en economische structuur - de informatiemaatschappij - waarbinnen het genereren, verwerken en verspreiden van kennis en informatie de belangrijkste bron is van productiviteit, welzijn en macht.
