IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

To contribute to ensuring the availability of a radio spectrum for space operations that is immune from interference, to enable economies of scale and optimise operational costs for pan-European systems, the Commission, together with the EU Member States, will investigate how to best take into account the future spectrum needs for SatCom in the context of the Radio Spectrum Policy Programme and contribute to the preparation of the next ITU World Radio Communications Conference in order to defend EU interests in the field of global and regional spectrum allocation.
Teneinde ervoor te helpen zorgen dat voor ruimtevaartactiviteiten een radiospectrum ter beschikking staat dat immuun is voor interferentie, schaalvoordelen mogelijk te maken en de exploitatiekosten van pan-Europese systemen te optimaliseren, zal de Commissie in samenwerking met de EU-lidstaten nagaan hoe het best rekening kan worden gehouden met de toekomstige spectrumbehoeften voor SatCom in het kader van het programma voor het radiospectrumbeleid en bijdragen aan de voorbereiding van de komende ITU-Wereldradiocommunicatieconferentie om de belangen van de EU op het gebied van mondiale en regionale spectrumtoewijzing te verdedigen.

‘machine-to-machine (M2M) radio communications’ means radio links for the purpose of relaying information between physical or virtual entities that build a complex ecosystem including the internet of Things; such radio links may be realised through electronic communications services (e.g. based on cellular technologies) or other services, based on licensed or unlicensed use of spectrum.
