German legislation requires that manufacturers and importers notify CE marked pyrotechnic articles, together with their instructions for use, to the Federal Institute for Material Research and Testing (BAM), before their placing on the German market.

3. Where pyrotechnic articles are subject to other Community legislation which covers other aspects of, and prescribes the affixing of, the CE marking, this marking shall indicate that those articles are also presumed to conform to the provisions of the other legislation which applies to them.

Wanneer pyrotechnische artikelen onderworpen zijn aan andere communautaire wetgeving die betrekking heeft op andere aspecten van de CE-markering en een CE-markering voorschrijft, geeft deze markering aan dat deze artikelen ook geacht worden aan de bepalingen van de andere toepasselijke wetgeving te voldoen.

This Directive is aimed at harmonising national legislation in force in the Member States in order to guarantee the free movement of pyrotechnic articles within the internal market whilst ensuring a high level of protection of human health and safety and the protection of consumers and professional end users.
Deze richtlijn heeft ten doel de geldende wettelijke stelsels terzake in de lidstaten te harmoniseren om tot vrij verkeer van pyrotechnische artikelen in de interne markt te komen en tegelijkertijd een hoog niveau van bescherming te bieden van zowel de gezondheid van de mens als de openbare veiligheid en de veiligheid van de consumenten en de professionele eindgebruikers.
