Since the Czech Republic has notified changes to the names in the list of the diplomas, certificates and other training qualifications of practitioners of dentistry, the lists of names annexed to Directive 78/686/EEC, as set out in Annex V, heading V. 3, point 5.3.3, to Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications, should be amended as follows.
Aangezien Tsjechië kennisgeving heeft gedaan van wijzigingen in de benamingen van opleidingen in de gespecialiseerde tandheelkunde, moeten de lijsten met benamingen in de bijlage bij Richtlijn 78/686/EEG, zoals overgenomen in bijlage V, rubriek V. 3, punt 5.3.4, bij Richtlijn 2005/36/EG betreffende de erkenning van beroepskwalificaties, worden gewijzigd.

Council Directive 78/686/EEC of 25 July 1978 concerning the mutual recognition of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of the formal qualifications of practitioners of dentistry, including measures to facilitate the effective exercise of the right of establishment and freedom to provide services (1), and in particular Article 23a thereof, and Directive 2005/36/EC on the recognition of professional qualifications (2), and in particular Article 21(7) thereof, both as last amended by Council Directive 2006/100/EC adapting certain Directives in the field of the freedom of movement of persons, by reason of the accession of Bulgaria and Romania (3), provide that Member States must notify the Commission of the laws, regulations or administrative provisions they adopt as regards the award of diplomas, certificates and other evidence of formal qualifications in the field covered by these Directives.
In Richtlijn 78/686/EEG van de Raad van 25 juli 1978 inzake de onderlinge erkenning van de diploma's, certificaten en andere titels van de beoefenaar der tandheelkunde, tevens houdende maatregelen tot vergemakkelijking van de daadwerkelijke uitoefening van het recht van vestiging en vrij verrichten van diensten (1), en met name artikel 23a, en Richtlijn 2005/36/EG betreffende de erkenning van beroepskwalificaties (2), en met name artikel 21, lid 7, beide laatstelijk gewijzigd bij Richtlijn 2006/100/EG van de Raad tot aanpassing van een aantal richtlijnen op het gebied van het vrije verkeer van personen, in verband met de toetreding van de Republiek Bulgarije en Roemenië (3), is vastgesteld dat de lidstaten de Commissie in kennis stellen van de wettelijke, regelgevende of bestuursrechtelijke bepalingen die zij vaststellen met betrekking tot de afgifte van diploma's, certificaten en andere opleidingstitels op het door deze richtlijnen bestreken gebied.

Under the terms of Law No 409 of 24 July 1985, the profession of dental practitioner ("odontoiatra") may be exercised not only by persons holding the specific diploma that was recently created for dentists, but also by doctors that have supplemented their medical training with a specialisation in the field of dentistry.
Volgens wet nr. 409 van 24.7.1985 is de uitoefening van het beroep van tandarts ("odontoiatra") namelijk niet enkel voorbehouden aan houders van een tandartsendiploma, dat van recente datum is, maar ook aan artsen die hun opleiding als arts hebben afgerond met een specialisatie op het gebied van de tandheelkunde.
