TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

As a follow-on to the INFO2000 and Multilingualism in the Information Society (MLIS) programmes, the Commission is launching a programme which will support of European digital content on global networks and promote linguistic diversity in the information society.

These actions constitute a natural follow-up to the actions carried out under the precursor MLIS programme, adapted to the needs of an increasingly digital and global environment.

Developed on the basis of experience gained under the INFO 2000 and MLIS (Multilingual Information Society Initiative) programmes, the programme proposes actions in three specific areas: public sector information, linguistic and cultural customisation, and the support of market enablers.

The proposed programme is a successor of the two previous EU programmes INFO2000 and MLIS (Multilingual Information Society) in favour of the multimedia industry and the multilingualism of the Information Society.
