(57) In order to provide clarity for consumers and to ensure that the appropriate information is communicated to them, the power to adopt certain acts should be delegated to the Commission in respect of adapting the list of terms referring to organic production set out in this Regulation, establishing the specific labelling and composition requirements applicable to feed and ingredients thereof, laying down further rules on labelling and the use of the indications, other than the organic production logo of the European Union, set out in this Regulation, and amending the organic production logo of the European Union and the rules relating thereto.
(57) Om de consument duidelijkheid en adequate informatie te verschaffen, moet de Commissie ertoe worden gemachtigd handelingen vast te stellen met betrekking tot de aanpassing van de in deze verordening opgenomen lijst met termen inzake de biologische productie, met betrekking tot specifieke etiketterings- en samenstellingsvoorschriften voor diervoeders en de ingrediënten daarvan, met betrekking tot aanvullende voorschriften inzake etikettering en het gebruik van andere aanduidingen dan het logo voor de biologische productie van de Europese Unie zoals bepaald in deze verordening, en met betrekking tot de wijziging van het logo voor biologische productie van de Europese Unie en de desbetreffende regels.

Products with environmental features (eco-designed, eco-labelled, organically produced, and with an important recycled content) are also included.

Considers that the 7th EAP should provide for full attainment of the goals for sustainable and ecological consumption and production set out in the Roadmap, for example as regards Green and Sustainable Public Procurement in compliance with the principles of transparency and fair competition; calls for the development of product policy, addressing the whole product lifecycle and including animal welfare friendly methods of production; calls on the Commission, once the harmonised European method for calculating a product's environmental footprint has been finalised, to ensure that additional information for consumers about the environmental impact of products, beyond existing schemes (eco-label, energy label, organic certification, etc.), is included; calls on the Commission to extend the scope of the Ecodesign Directive and review the implementation thereof;
30. meent dat het zevende MAP maatregelen moet inhouden voor de volledige verwezenlijking van de doelen van de routekaart voor duurzame en milieubewuste consumptie en productie, bijvoorbeeld wat betreft vergroening en verduurzaming van overheidsopdrachten, in overeenstemming met de beginselen van transparantie en eerlijke mededinging; dringt aan op de ontwikkeling van een productbeleid dat de gehele levenscyclus van het product in aanmerking neemt en waarbij gelet wordt op diervriendelijke productiemethodes; verzoekt de Commissie om, zodra de geharmoniseerde Europese methode voor het berekenen van de ecologische voetafdruk van producten is voltooid, ervoor te zorgen dat aanvullende informatie voor consumenten over de milieu-effecten van producten die niet onder de huidige regelingen vallen (milieukeurmerk, energielabel, certificering van biologische producten, enz.) wordt opgenomen; verzoekt de Commissie de werkingssfeer van de richtlijn Ecodesign te verruimen en de implementatie te evalueren;

Indeed, the regulation states that a product cannot be labelled ‘organic farming product’ if it contains GMOs, but it does nonetheless accept an adventitious contamination threshold of 0.9% of GMOs, which is inadmissible.
De verordening stelt weliswaar dat een product niet als 'biologisch landbouwproduct' mag worden geëtiketteerd indien het GGO’s bevat, maar stemt in met een ongewilde verontreiniging met GGO’s van 0,9 procent, hetgeen ontoelaatbaar is.
