The Commission will also strengthen cooperation with labour, social, health and safety inspectors, as well as fisheries inspectors, in relation to the identification and referral of victims of human trafficking and in raising awareness and training by including it on the agenda of EU networks in 2013.

Het is nodig systematisch toezicht te houden op de richtlijnen over veiligheid en gezondheid op de werkplek en op de uitwerking van deze richtlijnen in de lidstaten. Het Europees Agentschap voor veiligheid en gezondheid op het werk en de Europese Stichting tot verbetering van de levens- en arbeidsomstandigheden dienen op dit gebied een significante rol te spelen.

It is fundamental to the health and safety of our people. It has just 90 inspectors covering the globe and I ask the presidency to look carefully at that to see how this corner of Ireland, with its EU-wide implications, can be made more effective.
Dit Bureau is van fundamenteel belang voor de gezondheid en de veiligheid van onze mensen, maar beschikt slechts over 90 inspecteurs die heel de wereldbol moeten bestrijken.
