On 19 December 2014, the Commission received a notification of a proposed concentration pursuant to Article 4 of Council Regulation (EC) No 139/2004 (1) by which the undertakings Edenred SA (France), Hermes Mineralol-GmbH (‘Hermes’, Germany) and Familien-Gesellschaft Eckstein mbH Verwaltungs-KG (‘Eckstein’, Germany) acquire within the meaning of Article 3(1)(b) and 3(4) of the Merger Regulation joint control of UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH Co. KG and UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH (together ‘UTA’, Germany), by way of purchase of shares.
Op 19 december 2014 heeft de Commissie een aanmelding van een voorgenomen concentratie in de zin van artikel 4 van Verordening (EG) nr. 139/2004 van de Raad (1) ontvangen. Hierin is meegedeeld dat Edenred SA (Frankrijk), Hermes Mineralol-GmbH („Hermes”, Duitsland) en Familien-Gesellshaft Eckstein mbH Verwaltungs-KG („Eckstein”, Duitsland) in de zin van artikel 3, lid 1, onder b), van de concentratieverordening de gezamenlijke zeggenschap verkrijgen over UNION TANK Eckstein GmbH Co. Asks Frontex to assist the Member States in circumstances requiring increased technical and operational assistance at the EU’s external borders, taking into account the fact that situations may involve humanitarian emergencies and rescue at sea (Article 2 of the aforementioned Frontex Regulation); urges Frontex to make full use of the instruments at its disposal to implement its fundamental rights strategy in the Mediterranean, notably by asking its Fundamental Rights Officer for an assessment of the Hermes operation, with a specific focus on the recent tragedies in the Sicilian Channel;
5. vraagt Frontex bijstand te verlenen aan die lidstaten die gezien de omstandigheden behoefte hebben aan meer technische en operationele hulp aan de EU-buitengrenzen, rekening houdend met het feit dat het soms ook gaat om humanitaire noodsituaties en redding op zee (artikel 2 van de hierboven vermelde Frontex-verordening); dringt er bij Frontex met klem op aan ten volle gebruik te maken van de instrumenten die het Agentschap ter beschikking staan om zijn strategie inzake grondrechten in het gebied van de Middellandse Zee uit te voeren, in het bijzonder door zijn 'fundamentalrightsoffcier' op te dragen de operatie Hermes aan een evaluatie te onderwerpen en daarbij specifieke aandacht te besteden aan de recente rampzalige gebeurtenissen in het Kanaal van Sicilië;

Welcomes the creation of the 'Inframed' fund (established by the French 'Caisse des dépôts', the Italian 'Cassa depositi e prestiti', EFG Hermes (Egypt) and the Moroccan 'Caisse de dépôt et de gestion'), which was announced, in the framework of UfM, as a long-term investment fund to finance infrastructure projects;
14. is verheugd over de oprichting van het Inframed-fonds (opgericht door de Franse "Caisse des dépôts", de Italiaanse "Cassa depositi e prestiti", EFG Hermes (Egypte) en de Marokkaanse "Caisse de dépôt et de gestion"), dat in het kader van de Unie voor het Middellandse-Zeegebied is aangekondigd als een langetermijninvesteringfonds voor de financiering van infrastructuurprojecten;

The launch, in the coming months, of Nautilus and Hermes, the two naval operations organised and financed by Frontex, the European external borders agency, will cost around EUR 24 million. The Commission invites all the Member States of the European Union to cooperate in the implementation of these two actions.
Volgende maand zullen Nautilus en Hermes, twee via Frontex georganiseerde en gefinancierde marineoperaties van start gaan. De Commissie nodigt alle lidstaten van de Europese Unie uit om mee te werken aan de implementatie van deze twee acties, die 24 miljoen euro zullen gaan kosten.
