TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

(A) Whereas this application is based on Article 2(c) of Regulation (EC) No 1927/2006 (EGF Regulation) and relates to 257 workers dismissed in Saint-Gobain Sekurit (SGS) Benelux in the sector of the manufacture of safety glass for the automotive industry in Auvelais, near Sambreville, within the reference period from 31 August 2013 to 31 December 2013;
(A) overwegende dat de aanvraag is gebaseerd op artikel 2, onder c), van Verordening (EG) nr. 1927/2006 (EFG verordening) en betrekking heeft op 257 ontslagen werknemers van Saint-Gobain Sekurit (SGS) Benelux in de sector veiligheidsglas voor de automobielindustrie in Auvelais, bij Sambreville, binnen de referentieperiode van 31 augustus 2013 tot 31 december 2013;

G. whereas, in the manufacturing sector, the share of material cost as part of the total production costs is significantly higher than the share related to workers' payroll and whereas, in all sectors, the upward trend in the former is not expected to be reversed, at least in the medium term,

Calls on the Member States to take all necessary measures to support their capital cities and other metropolises in their efforts to deal with the challenges arising from urbanisation and the resulting population increase, in areas of waste management, housing, employment and education; at a more general level, considers that demographic fluctuations generate challenges for both urban and rural areas related to the labour market and additionally to the fields of education and retraining of former workers affected by unemployment, and also related to the depopulation of rural areas;

It ranged from 588 workers in the application prepared by Spain in respect of former workers of the automotive industry in Castilla y León and Aragón (EGF/2008/04) up to 1 589 workers in the Spanish application related to DELPHI (EGF/2008/02).
