TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

The new modules are fully in line with the revised European strategy for environmental accounting (ESEA 2008), which analysed the policy needs and statistical possibilities for environmental accounts and proposed areas for development, and the United Nations’ System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA).

Urban areas play an important role in delivering the objectives of the EU Sustainable Development Strategy.[1] In urban areas the environmental, economic and social dimensions meet most strongly.[2] Cities are where many environmental problems are concentrated, but they are also the economic drivers, the places where business is done and investments are made.
