The European contribution will concentrate on the following areas : - Programme management and co-ordination. - Institutional and organisational development in the Eastern Cape. - Strengthening DWAF's capacity to plan, co-ordinate and monitor rural water supply and sanitation activities both nationally and in the Eastern Cape. - Installation of basic water supply systems and improved sanitation serving some 230.000 rural inhabitants in the ex-Transkei and Ciskei.
De Europese bijdrage zal vooral op de volgende gebieden zijn gericht : - programmabeheer en -coördinatie, - institutionele en organisatorische ontwikkeling in de provincie Eastern Cape, - versterking van het vermogen van DWAF tot planning, coördinatie en controle van landelijke activiteiten inzake watervoorziening op het platteland en riolering op nationaal vlak in de provincie Eastern Cape, - installatie van systemen voor elementaire watervoorziening en betere gezondheidszorg ten behoeve van ongeveer 230.000 plattelandsbewoners in ex-Transkei en Ciskei.
