Acting on a proposal by Mr Bruce Millan, the Member with special responsibility for regional policies, the Commission has decided to grant assistance from the Structural Funds (ERDF, ESF and EAGGF Guidance Section) to the Interreg "External Frontiers" operational programme, which is intended to promote cooperation between the border areas of Greece and Bulgaria and Albania under the Interreg II Community Initiative. This operational programme will run from 3 November 1994 to 31 December 1999 and will receive assistance from the Structural Funds totalling ECU 309.8 million towards total costs of ECU 492 million.
