Calls on the Commission, in the run-up to the Olympics, to ask the key players of the world sportswear and athletic footwear industry – sportswear brands, the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry, and the IOC – to start negotiations aiming at a sectoral solution fully complying with ILO labour standards;
2. dringt er bij de Commissie op aan, in de aanloop naar de Olympische Spelen, de belangrijkste actoren uit de sportkleding- en sportschoeisel producerende sector - sportkledingmerken, de Wereldfederatie van sportartikelen producerende industrieën en het IOC - te verzoeken om onderhandelingen te starten die moeten uitmonden in een sectoriële oplossing met volledige inachtneming van de IAO-arbeidsnormen;

7. Urges the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry to commit itself to stating publicly that the sportswear and athletic footwear industries need to come forward with concrete and identifiable measures for a sectoral solution aiming at full compliance with ILO labour standards;
7. verzoekt de Wereldfederatie van sportartikelen producerende industrieën zich ertoe te verplichten om publiekelijk te verklaren dat de sportkleding en sportschoeisel producerende bedrijven met concrete en duidelijke maatregelen moeten komen voor een sectoriële oplossing die gericht is op volledige eerbiediging van de IAO-arbeidsnormen;

3. Urges the ILO to develop a credible and independent inspection system in order to monitor the ILO labour standards in the sporting goods industry world-wide and based on the above inspection system;
3. dringt er bij de IAO op aan een geloofwaardig en onafhankelijk inspectiesysteem te ontwikkelen om toezicht uit te oefenen op de eerbiediging van de IAO-arbeidsnormen in de wereldwijde sportartikelen producerende industrie en dat gebaseerd is op bovengenoemd inspectiesysteem;

11. Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the Council, the governments of the old and new Member States, the Commission, the International Olympic Committee, the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry and the International Labour Organisation.
11. verzoekt zijn Voorzitter deze resolutie te doen toekomen aan de Raad, de regeringen van de huidige en de nieuwe lidstaten, de Commissie, het Internationaal Olympisch Comité, de Wereldfederatie van sportartikelen producerende industrieën en de Internationale Arbeidsorganisatie.

7. Urges the ILO to develop a credible and independent inspection system in order to monitor the ILO labour standards in the sporting goods industry world-wide and based on the above inspection system, and to develop ILO models of cooperation between public and private sectors to build effective methods of labour inspection;
7. dringt er bij de IAO op aan een geloofwaardig en onafhankelijk inspectiesysteem op te zetten om de naleving van de IAO-arbeidsnormen in de sportartikelenindustrie in de gehele wereld te controleren en om op basis van dit inspectiesysteem IAO-modellen te ontwikkelen voor samenwerking tussen de overheid en de particuliere sector om doelmatige methoden te ontwikkelen voor de arbeidsinspectie;

This issue was also discussed at the structured dialogue between EU Sports Ministers from the extended Troika , the Commission and sports movement representatives from the International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA), the European Health and Fitness Association (EHFA), UEFA, the EU Sports Platform, the European Physical Education Association (EUPEA), the Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), the International School Sport Federation (ISF) and the Federation of the European Sporting goods Industry (FESI).
