The 2013 overseas association decision (OAD) aims to modernise the relations between the EU and the OCTs and to take into account changing global trade patterns, as well as concerns such as climate change and environmental protection.
Het LGO-besluit van 2013 is gericht op het moderniseren van de betrekkingen van de EU met de LGO's en houdt rekening met de veranderende mondiale handelspatronen evenals met problemen als klimaatverandering en de bescherming van het milieu.

The new OAD marks the beginning of a new system of trade which aims to benefit the trading environment for the OCTs.
