The air quality framework and daughter Directives require Member States to assess air quality throughout their territory, including specifications regarding the monitoring network, the use of models and the quality assurance and quality control of air quality data.

2. Where fixed measurements are the sole source of information for assessing air quality, the number of sampling points shall not be less than the minimum number specified in Section C of Annex V. Where that information is supplemented by indicative measurements or modelling, the minimum number of sampling points may be reduced by up to 50 % so long as the assessed concentrations of the relevant pollutant can be established in accordance with the data quality objectives specified in Section A of Annex I.
2. Wanneer vaste metingen de enige bron van gegevens zijn ter beoordeling van de luchtkwaliteit, mag het aantal bemonsteringspunten niet kleiner zijn dan het in bijlage V, deel C, genoemde minimumaantal. Wanneer die gegevens worden aangevuld met door indicatieve metingen en/of modellering verkregen gegevens, mag het minimumaantal bemonsteringspunten evenwel met ten hoogste 50 % worden verminderd, mits de beoordeelde concentraties van de betrokken verontreinigende stof kunnen worden vastgesteld overeenkomstig de in bijlage I, deel A, genoemde gegevenskwaliteitsdoelstellingen.

3. In applying the quality dimensions laid down in paragraph 1 to the data covered by this Regulation, the arrangements concerning and structure of the quality reports shall be defined in accordance with the regulatory procedure referred to in Article 7(2). The Commission (Eurostat) shall assess the quality of the data transmitted.

Bij de toepassing van de in lid 1 vastgelegde kwaliteitsdimensies op de gegevens die onder deze Verordening vallen, worden de regelingen betreffende en de opzet van de kwaliteitsverslagen bepaald overeenkomstig de in artikel 7, lid 2 bedoelde regelgevingsprocedure.
