The EU has developed several instruments to support the integration of legally-residing migrants, including the European Fund for Integration, a European website on integration, the European Integration Forum and the ‘Handbook on Integration for policy-makers and practitioners’.

The Europe-wide Platform, set up by the European Commission, will serve as a forum for civil society organisations working at European, national and local levels, in the field of human rights, children's rights, women's rights and gender equality, migrants' rights and shelters.

The third meeting of the European Integration Forum, held on 24 and 25 June at the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels, will focus on two main themes: 'The Civil Society Input to the Second European Agenda for Integration' and 'The Relations between Migrants and the Media'.
Op 24 en 25 juni jl. vond in het Europees Economisch en Sociaal Comité (EESC) in Brussel het derde Europees Integratieforum plaats. Notes that in year 2000, EUR 800 000 earmarked under budget line A-3040 towards the operating cost and the work programme for European Migrants Forum; notes that an investigation has begun by OLAF after allegations of fraud and mismanagement in this organisation and that OLAF sent the case to the Belgian judicial authorities in June 2001; expects to be fully informed of the conclusions of the Belgian authorities; asks the Commission to ensure that this body and others funded under A-3 Community subsidies are effective in meeting their objectives;
23. wijst erop dat in 2000 onder begrotingslijn A-3040 800.000 euro werd gereserveerd ter dekking van de bedrijfskosten en het werkprogramma van het Migrantenforum; stelt vast dat het OLAF een onderzoek heeft ingesteld na beschuldigingen van fraude en wanbeheer in deze organisatie en de zaak in juni 2001 voor de Belgische rechter heeft gebracht; wenst volledig op de hoogte te worden gesteld van de conclusies van de Belgische autoriteiten; vraagt de Commissie erop toe te zien dat deze en andere organisaties die door de EU uit hoofdstuk A-3 worden gefinancierd, er daadwerkelijk in slagen hun doelstellingen te bereiken;
