Based on the evidence retrieved, Thai flagged vessels are reported to have committed the following serious infringements contrary to the conservation and management measures of the fishing areas concerned, as they have: fished without a valid licence, authorisation or permit issued by the flag State or the coastal States concerned; fished without Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) equipment on-board in the high seas and in coastal States where VMS is a requirement for all foreign flagged
vessels; presented erroneous information regarding fishing areas to obtain
validation of catch certificates ...[+++] from the Thai authorities and importation of the products into the EU; falsified or concealed their markings, identity or registration; obstructed the work of coastal State officials in the exercise of their duties in inspecting for compliance with the applicable conservation and management measures.
