The EICs should be transformed into identifiable one-stop trouble-shooting shops for SMEs encountering obstacles in the internal market; EICs should become genuine mediators between SMEs and the Member States, approaching each problem by applying Community law as practically and pragmatically as possible; recognises that to achieve these objectives, EICs will require greater funding;
