24. Deplores the European Civil Service Tribunal judgment published on 22 May 2014 condemning the EESC for breaching the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union when dismissing one of its staff members in 2013; also deplores the ruling handed down on 8 October 2014 in Case T-530/12 P, M. B. G. v EESC, in which the General Court found against the EESC in connection with the reporting of irregularities concerning the former Secretary-General by the head of the EESC Legal Service; calls on the EESC and its new Secretary-General to take the steps required to prevent further serious breaches of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, to inform the EESC Bureau, the members, and the entire staff about the content of the two judgments, and to draw their attention to the fact that officials and other staff covered by the Staff Regulations have an obligation to report irregularities and that the EESC Bureau is an appropriate body to receive such reports; also asks to be informed about the total legal expenses incurred in the last five years in staff cases ultimately dealt with in the courts or by the Ombudsman;
24. betreurt de op 22 mei 2014 gepubliceerde uitspraak van het Gerecht voor ambtenarenzaken van de Europese Unie waarin het EESC wordt veroordeeld voor het schenden van het Handvest van de grondrechten van de Europese Unie in verband met het ontslag van één van zijn personeelsleden in 2013; betreurt eveneens het arrest van het Hof van Justitie van de Europese Unie van 8 oktober 2014 in zaak T-530/12 P (M.B.G./EESC) in het nadeel van het EESC en met betrekking tot de melding van onregelmatigheden tegen de vroegere secretaris-generaal door het hoofd van de juridische dienst van het EESC; vraagt aan het EESC en zijn nieuwe secretaris-generaal passende maatregelen te nemen om ervoor te zorgen dat er zich geen nieuwe ernstige schendingen van het Handvest van de grondrechten van de Europese Unie voordoen, en het bureau, de leden en al het personeel te informeren over de inhoud van beide arresten, alsook over de verplichting voor ambtenaren en statutaire personeelsleden om onregelmatigheden te melden, en over het feit dat het bureau van het EESC het bevoegde orgaan is om dergelijke meldingen te ontvangen; vraagt eveneens het Parlement op de hoogte te brengen van de totale juridische kosten van de afgelopen 5 jaar met betrekking tot personeelszaken die voor het gerecht of de Ombudsman zijn gebracht;

12. Reconfirms its position that, in the interests of transparency, declarations of financial interests of members of all Union institutions should be accessible on the Internet via a public register; notes the response of the EESC, in particular the letter of the Vice-president of EESC concerning the observation of the Parliament that the members of the EESC did not declare their financial interests, and requests that the EESC take steps to make public the relevant information, and to follow up this issue in its Annual Activity Report;
12. bevestigt zijn standpunt dat in het belang van de transparantie de verklaringen betreffende de financiële belangen van de leden van alle instellingen van de Unie via een openbaar register op internet toegankelijk moeten zijn; wijst op het antwoord van het EESC, met name de brief van de ondervoorzitter van het EESC, op de opmerking van het Parlement dat de leden van het EESC geen verklaring van hun financiële belangen hebben overgelegd en vraagt het EESC stappen te ondernemen om de informatie in kwestie openbaar te maken en deze kwestie aan bod te laten komen in zijn jaarlijks activiteitenverslag;

11. Welcomes the willingness of the EESC to accommodate the suggestion of the Parliament in its above-mentioned resolution of 5 May 2010, that travel expenses of members of the EESC should be based only on actual travel costs (and that daily allowances should be equal to those received by the Members of the European Parliament), and takes note of the letter of the EESC President on this matter; requests the EESC to report on the further progress on this issue;
12. is ingenomen met de bereidheid van het EESC om gehoor te geven aan de aanbeveling die het Parlement in zijn eerder genoemde resolutie van 5 mei 2010 had gedaan, nl. dat de reiskosten van de leden van het EESC moeten worden vergoed op basis van de werkelijk gemaakte reiskosten (en dat dagvergoedingen gelijk moeten zijn aan die van de leden van het Europees Parlement) en neemt kennis van de brief van de voorzitter van het EESC over deze kwestie; verzoekt het EESC verslag uit te brengen over verdere vooruitgang op dit punt;
