The Commission and EAA shall facilitate active cooperation of the national supervisory authorities and exchanges and use of staff between the national supervisory authorities based on a pool of experts to be set up by EAA in accordance with Article 17(2)(f) of Regulation (EC) No 216/2008.

In line with the view that the Commission should focus on economic regulation and in particular on the performance scheme and SESAR, whereas EASA(now EAA, under the agreement on standardisation of Agencies) supports the process through co-ordinating all technical rule drafting, a new Article 28 has been added to describe the manner in which the consistency between SESAR policies and new technical rules can be ensured.

The latter agreement includes also standardisation of the names of EU Agencies, so that the name of EASA shall be modified to "European Union Agency for Aviation (EAA).

As regards Regulation (EC) No 138/2004, the Commission should be empowered to update the methodology of the economic accounts for agriculture (EAA) in the Community, the list of variables and the time limits for the transmission of data for these accounts.

Although the new Regulation will serve to consolidate and formalise the EAA, it should nonetheless express values in euros and contain an undertaking to bring the EAA into line with the new CAP's new values and essential features, so as to ensure that the EU's Economic Accounts for Agriculture do not become obsolete and unsuited to their purpose.
