The Commission will: – consider to support, in the framework of Horizon 2020, in accordance with applicable state aid rules, RD, demonstration and pilot projects for new technologies for cleaner, more resource and energy-efficient technologies, including PPPs fulfilling the relevant requirements. One potential PPP - SPIRE (Sustainable Process Industry through Resource and Energy Efficiency) and the Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan) are under preparation, – cooperate internationally in upstream research projects, where appropriate and useful in increasing European competitiveness and market access, – focus financial support more on the up-scaling and piloting phase instead of only focusing on the research phase, – explore, in the context of the EIP on Raw Materials, and in particular its forthcoming strategic implementation plan, all the options to foster innovation in the steel industry along the raw materials value chain, including recycling.
De Commissie zal: – ondersteuning overwegen, in het kader van Horizon 2020 en in overeenstemming met de toepasselijke regels inzake staatssteun, van onderzoek en ontwikkeling, demonstratie- en proefprojecten voor nieuwe technologieën voor schonere, energie-efficiëntere technologieën met een beter gebruik van hulpbronnen, met inbegrip van PPP's, die aan de relevante eisen voldoen; een potentieel PPP - Spire (Sustainable Process Industry through Resource and Energy Efficiency- duurzame verwerkende industrie door hulpbronnen- en energie-efficiëntie) en het strategisch plan voor energietechnologie (Strategic Energy Technology Plan - SET-plan) zijn in voorbereiding; – internationaal samenwerken in "upstream" onderzoeksprojecten, indien passend en nuttig voor het versterken van het Europese concurrentievermogen en de markttoegang; – financiële steun meer richten op de opschaling en de testfase in plaats van uitsluitend op de onderzoeksfase; – in het kader van het EIP op het gebied van grondstoffen, en met name het aanstaande strategische uitvoeringsplan ervan, alle opties voor innovatiebevordering in de staalindustrie langs de waardeketen van grondstoffen, inclusief recycling, onderzoeken.
