Indeed, the quality of translations is usually checked by colleagues, that is, they check each other’s work, which is probably not very objective.

5. The standard fee as specified in Annex VIIIa is without prejudice to extra charges to cover additional costs incurred in special activities relating to the checks, such as exceptional travelling by inspectors or waiting periods of inspectors due to delays in the arrival of consignments out of schedule, checks carried out outside normal working hours, supplementary checks or laboratory testing required in addition to those provided for in Article 13 for confirmation of conclusions drawn from the checks, special phytosanitary measures as required under Community acts based on Articles 15 or 16, measures taken pursuant to Article 13c(7), or the translation of required documents.
5. In de in bijlage VIII bis vermelde standaardretributie zijn niet begrepen de extra heffingen ter dekking van kosten die worden gemaakt voor speciale activiteiten in verband met de controles, zoals buitengewone dienstreizen die de controleurs moeten maken, wachttijden als gevolg van vertragingen bij de aankomst van zendingen (partijen), buiten de gewone werktijden uitgevoerde controles, extra controles of laboratoriumtests die naast de in artikel 13 bedoelde controles nodig zijn ter bevestiging van de conclusies van de controles, speciale fytosanitaire maatregelen als vereist op grond van op basis van artikel 15 of 16 genomen communautaire besluiten, maatregelen die op grond van artikel 13 ter, lid 7, zijn genomen, of vertaling van vereiste documenten.
