Guaranteeing safety is a priority for us.

This Directive is complementary to existing Community instruments such as Council Directive 92/75/EEC of 22 September 1992 on the indication by labelling and standard product information of the consumption of energy and other resources by household appliances , Regulation (EC) No 1980/2000 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 July 2000 on a revised Community eco-label award scheme , Directive 2002/96/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) , Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 January 2003 on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment , Directive 2006/121/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 amending Council Directive 67/548/EEC on the approximation of laws, regulations and administrative provisions relating to the classification, packaging and labelling of dangerous substances in order to adapt it to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and establishing a European Chemicals Agency and Regulation (EC) No 106/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 January 2008 on a Community energy-efficiency labelling programme for office equipment .
Deze richtlijn is complementair aan bestaande communautaire instrumenten zoals Richtlijn 92/75/EEG van de Raad van 22 september 1992 betreffende de vermelding van het energieverbruik en het verbruik van andere hulpbronnen op de etikettering en in de standaardproductinformatie van huishoudelijke apparaten , Verordening (EG) nr. 1980/2000 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 17 juli 2000 inzake een herzien communautair systeem voor de toekenning van milieukeuren , Richtlijn 2002/96/EG van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 27 januari 2003 betreffende afgedankte elektrische en elektronische apparatuur (AEEA) , Richtlijn 2002/95/EG van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 27 januari 2003 betreffende beperking van het gebruik van bepaalde gevaarlijke stoffen in elektrische en elektronische apparatuur en Richtlijn 2006/121/EG van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 18 december 2006 tot wijziging van Richtlijn 67/548/EEG van de Raad betreffende de aanpassing van de wettelijke en bestuursrechtelijke bepalingen inzake de indeling, de verpakking en het kenmerken van gevaarlijke stoffen teneinde deze aan te passen aan Verordening (EG) nr. 1907/2006 inzake de registratie en beoordeling van en de vergunningverlening en beperkingen ten aanzien van chemische stoffen (REACH), tot oprichting van een Europees Agentschap voor chemische stoffen en Verordening (EG) nr. 106/2008 van het Europees Parlement en de Raad van 15 januari 2008 betreffende een communautair energie-efficiëntie-etiketteringsprogramma voor kantoorapparatuur .
